When you are here, whether as a guest or a team member, you are home. The Accounting Manager helps oversee the financial and accounting functions of the hotel. Reporting directly to the Controller, the Accounting Manager plays a key supporting role in the achievement of departmental goals, as well as ensuring continuous compliance with internal controls throughout all areas of the hotel.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to work with accuracy, efficiency and attention to detail.
  • Must be self-directed, motivated and demonstrate exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and openly in all interactions.
  • Must be able to show initiative in job performance, including anticipating what needs to be done before it becomes a necessity.
  • Fluency in English both verbal and non-verbal.
  • Must maintain flexible schedule to reflect business needs of 24/7 hotel environment.
  • Thorough understanding of federal and state tax laws.
  • Technologically savvy and computer literate, with knowledge of typical accounting accounting software and all MS Office programs.
  • Demonstrated financial acumen and confidence in preparing analyses of statistics, trends, and forecasts.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred.
  • 1 year generalist or management experience preferred.
  • Previous luxury hotel environment experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise the daily operation of accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash receipts, payroll, and general ledger.
  • Supervise daily accounting operations, ensuring compliance with all applicable Standard Operating Procedures, as well as all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Facilitate the timely close of the month-end process and meeting all deadlines for financial reporting.
  • Help prepare financial statements and reports in a timely manner, ensuring complete accuracy of all information provided.
  • Monitoring revenues and expenditures through departmental checkbook accounting.
  • Troubleshooting software problems/issues in relation to accounting, payroll and labor timekeeping software, setting up new users and coordinating resolution with software vendors on issues as they arise.
  • Performance management of all accounting staff, including training and development, application of disciplinary action when warranted and regular performance reviews.
  • Participate in inventory counts, validations and extensions.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
