About The Position
We are seeking a Property Accounting Manager to join our team! We are a commercial real estate management company in Downtown Los Angeles seeking for a hands-on, experienced Accounting Manager to oversee full-cycle accounting operations across multiple real estate entities. This is an in-office position. Remote work is not available. Due to the sensitive nature of the information, this role cannot be outsourced. Applications without real estate accounting experience will not be considered. This is not a junior bookkeeping position. DO NOT APPLY if you do not have the required accounting background.
Requirements
- 5+ years of CRE Accounting Experience in an Accounting Manager or similar senior role
- Strong experience working directly with ownership and CPAs
- Proficiency with accounting software (AppFolio, QuickBooks, or similar required)
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and internal controls
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Ability to meet tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy
- Desire and ability to grow with the company
- Bachelor’s or higher degree in accounting, finance, or a related field desired
- Previous experience handling accounting in a real estate environment desired
- Strong attention to detail

Responsibilities
- Oversee full-cycle accounting for multiple real estate entities and properties
- Manage AP & AR with proper internal controls
- Oversee CAM reconciliations, tenant billings, and reimbursements
- Monitor property-level cash flow, operating accounts, and reserves
- Perform and review monthly bank reconciliations
- Lead month-end close and general ledger reconciliation
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
- Track and monitor loan compliance, covenants, and lender reporting requirements
- Serve as the primary financial liaison to ownership, lenders, and external CPAs
- Support audits, refinances, and lender requests
- Prepare year-end financials and support tax preparation for CPAs
- Manage payroll processing, tax deposits, quarterly and annual payroll filings (W-2s, W-3s, 1099s/1096s)
- Prepare and file sales tax returns, business licenses, and Form 571-L
- Provide limited human resources and administrative accounting support as needed
- Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly financial reports
- Manage payables and receivables for the property company
- Process tax documentation including sales tax, real estate tax, and more
- Review daily banking activity
- Process cash receipts
- Reconcile transactions
- Assist with budget preparation and projections
- Oversee daily banking transactions and reconciliation with cash receipts
- Handle all tax payments related to the business, including sales and real estate taxes
