About The Position

Wolverine Fuels has an immediate opening for a full-time Accounting Manager - Financial Reporting in its Sandy office. The reporting component of the position requires processing of system generated financial statements (Spreadsheet Server – SAP). Along with system reports generation, a solid knowledge of Excel Spreadsheet management, creation, and data manipulation is required. The ability to understand accounting principles, system accounting flows, and written communication of financial analysis and period results is essential. Knowledge of PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat report generation and manipulation is very valuable.

Requirements

Must have a B.S. in Accounting or a related field with equivalent practical experience.
Must have 5 years practical financial experience in the mining industry.
Must have excellent technical, communication, and human relations skills.
Solid knowledge of Excel Spreadsheet management, creation, and data manipulation.
Ability to understand accounting principles, system accounting flows, and written communication of financial analysis and period results.
Strong understanding of GAAP accounting standards and FASB pronouncements.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat report generation and manipulation is very valuable.

Responsibilities

Manages the monthly accumulation and compilation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial information for the purpose of internal and external reporting requirements.
The financial highlights narrative, Budget variance analysis of key financial categories, Monthly update of production, safety, compliance, and personnel performance charts. All aspects of fixed asset expenditures, additions, retirements, and depreciation, and the monthly CAPEX Expenditures chart, Gather Mine Manager Cost Analysis & Savings Initiatives, Compile PowerPoint, and PDF Executive & Mine Presentations. Review and confirm accuracy of financial packet prior to submission for next level review.
State Property Tax Reporting: Reporting of fixed asset additions & retirements to respective CO & UT state taxing authorities; Coordinate State Tax financial forecasts (by budget/finance team), submitted with annual property tax additions and retirements. Summarize anticipated tax effects of asset additions & retirements on property taxes. Update annual property tax accrual calculations. Coordinate timely payment of property taxes.
Technical accounting and analysis: This position will assist in writing technical accounting memos and documenting company accounting policies as needed, and to support the company's annual audits. Also, this position will provide ad hoc analysis as needed. A strong understanding of GAAP accounting standards and FASB pronouncements is required.
