About The Position

Target Finance and Accounting are transforming for the better. As so much more than a behind-the-scenes number-cruncher, you will be a truly collaborative partner with a seat at the table. You’ll bring your unique point of view, experience and passion for the work to your team and internal clients. Within Accounting, you’ll enjoy the interesting challenges of the competitive retail space, and you’ll have a 360-degree impact—rather than on just one part of the business. You’ll see your contributions come to life in virtually every area of this dynamic enterprise. And you’ll grow and be challenged in your career while having a healthy balance with life outside of work. Your role will be critical to ensuring the success of Target’s business initiatives and core retail operations. As an Accounting Manager, Financial Reporting, you will be part of the team responsible for the accuracy and integrity of Target’s general ledger and consolidated financial reporting across 50+ legal entities. This team performs critical accounting functions that underpin both internal and external reporting. In this role, you will help ensure a flawless, well-controlled monthly close and consolidation process—while also transforming how the team operates. You will drive process modernization, enhance reporting insights, and increase the visibility and impact of this foundational team across the organization. You will partner with Accounting, Income Tax, and Legal teams to support new initiatives, drive process efficiencies, and leverage analytics to improve complex accounting processes. You will lead special projects and perform ad hoc analyses to support key business partners. In addition, you will assist with the close and consolidation process, ensuring the accuracy of legal entity financial statements. Responsibilities also include preparing SAP journal entries, reviewing key controls, and building strong cross-functional relationships to influence stakeholders and provide exceptional support to teams across the company.
