About The Position

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Accounting Lead to join our growing Finance team. In this role, you will lead core accounting operations, own the month-end close and financial reporting processes, and partner closely with cross-functional teams to support scale and operational excellence. You will play a critical role in strengthening financial controls and improving systems and processes as the business continues to grow rapidly. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned accounting professional with strong technical expertise and a hands-on mindset who thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments. This role is onsite in NYC, in our SoHo office.

Requirements

• A collaborative, ownership-driven mindset and desire to grow with a fast-moving team
• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Accounting or a related field
• 2-4 years of Accounting and Financial Operations experience, prior experience in a startup, fintech, or SaaS environment strongly preferred
• Broad exposure to P&L and balance sheets is a plus
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and significant experience with accounting systems
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls
• Experience with audit, billing systems, and/or systems implementations
• Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities independently

Responsibilities

• Lead general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and financial statement preparation
• Drive the monthly and annual close processes, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant financial reporting
• Manage accounts payable, credit card programs, and employee reimbursement processes, driving accuracy and efficiency
• Contribute to quarterly billing and own collections process, including QA testing and close collaboration with engineering to improve billing functionality
• Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, Legal, and other teams to support new initiatives, product launches, and financial analysis
• Serve as the support for audits, tax filings, regulatory reporting, and external advisors
• Drive process improvement initiatives, including automation, system enhancements, and strengthening internal controls
• Provide financial insights, reporting, and ad hoc analysis to support leadership decision-making, board and investor reporting
