About The Position

Webber, a leader in the construction industry and part of Ferrovial, is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated accounting and finance interns to join its Summer Internship Program – Operations Accounting. This internship offers hands-on experience in the full cost accounting cycle, including job budget establishment, invoice processing, subcontractor payments, and managing project inventory and accruals. The program aims to develop future full-time talent by providing a comprehensive understanding of the construction industry's accounting practices. A successful internship may lead to a full-time position with opportunities for upward mobility upon graduation.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
• Must be enrolled in a 4-year Accounting degree program
• Be able to communicate in English via verbal and written communications
• Moderate to high level of computer skills in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook
• Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with the fingers
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Full understanding of Construction Math concepts
• Moderate physical activity performing somewhat strenuous daily activities of a primarily administrative nature.
• Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with the fingers

Responsibilities

• Establish and enter job budget into accounting system
• Collect delivery tickets
• Verify purchase order pricing
• Process invoices
• Enter invoices
• Enter subcontractor payments and verify their contractual compliance
• Create and enter material, trucking and subcontractor accruals
• Manage project inventory and accruals
• Compare budget to what was entered
• Identify reasons for deviations with budget
• Identify reasons for deviations from monthly/yearly revenue and gross profit forecasts
