About The Position

The Accounting Intern will gain hands-on exposure to core accounting operations by shadowing and assisting with reconciliation, verification of financial records and transactions, and general bookkeeping. This role requires strong attention to detail and the ability to help maintain account balances, financial statements, the general ledger, and related reporting, all while maintaining strict confidentiality. The successful candidate will bring competent communication skills, a strong work ethic, and a genuine interest in learning how an accounting team operates day to day.

Requirements

Currently enrolled as a Sophomore, Junior, or Senior in an accredited degree program
Pursuing a major in Business Administration & Management, Finance & Financial Management, Economics, or Accounting
Must have current U.S. work authorization
Accounting and bookkeeping fundamentals
Strong communication and critical thinking skills
Accurate, efficient data entry
Financial reporting and reconciliation
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality
1-2 years of relevant experience

Responsibilities

Reconcile incoming and outgoing transactions to ensure accuracy of financial records.
Deposit an average of 50 payroll checks daily.
Organize files such as receipts and other incoming documents.
Record deposits and other transactions in QuickBooks and other reporting software.
Assist with research, data entry, and recording and maintaining accurate and complete financial records.
Learn how to work as part of an accounting team to compile and analyze information, track data, and support both accounting and operations.
Assist with external audits as needed.
Help ensure accuracy of financial statements in accordance with GAAP and compliance with internal policies.
