About The Position

Wolf is seeking a motivated Accounting Intern to join the Outsourced Finance and Accounting (OFA) team at our growing and well-established national firm. The Accounting & Finance Intern will support the Outsourced Finance & Accounting team in delivering high-quality accounting, financial reporting, and operational support services to multiple clients across a variety of industries. This internship provides hands-on exposure to cloud-based accounting systems, month-end close processes, financial reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll support, and finance operations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, eager to learn, comfortable working with technology, and interested in pursuing a career in accounting, finance, consulting, or client accounting services. This internship will run from January – April. Candidate is expected to work at least 1 day each week in our Boston office.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
  • Completion of introductory accounting coursework with a strong academic record.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Eagerness to learn and apply accounting concepts in a professional setting.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with transaction coding and bookkeeping activities.
  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
  • Assist in the preparation of bank and credit card reconciliations.
  • Assist with maintaining accounting records and supporting schedules.
  • Help review general ledger activity for accuracy and completeness.
  • Support fixed asset tracking and depreciation schedules.
  • Assist staff accountants and controllers with month-end close procedures.
  • Prepare account reconciliations and supporting workpapers.
  • Investigate discrepancies and document findings.
  • Organize client financial documents and maintain audit-ready digital files.
  • Assist in assembling monthly financial reporting packages.
  • Participate in internal team meetings and training sessions.
  • Assist with onboarding and implementation projects for new clients.
  • Support process documentation and standard operating procedures (SOPs) as part of learning experience.
  • Perform special projects and ad hoc financial analyses as assigned.
  • Work within cloud-based accounting and finance platforms.
  • Assist with data imports, exports, and system implementations.
  • Learn accounting technology integrations and workflow tools.
  • Help improve processes through automation and technology solutions.
