Our 12-week paid internship program offers firsthand experience and meaningful projects that have an impact on our business. Throughout the program, you’ll have the opportunity to work alongside industry professionals receiving mentorship, professional development, and networking opportunities that will expose you to various aspects of our industry. Build Connections By: Working alongside our department team that serves our customers, employees, and partners across North America and Canada. Collaborating with other Gordon Food Service interns and employees in the following areas: Communications Finance Accounting Human Resources IT Marketing & Merchandising Supply Chain Sales Build a Career: In the Finance / Accounting department by: Focusing on sales, profit margin, expenses and operational processes; work with business intelligence tools to create snapshots of business unit performances, track inventory, evaluate profitability of our customer base, complete financial reviews of customers to ensure credit worthiness, and identify benchmark metrics to predict future performances. Executing the monthly financial close process, maintain the general ledger, reconcile balance sheets, manage cash and financial positions of the company, prepare financial statements, prepare senior management financial materials, create an operating plan for next year, and track capital budgeting and expenditures. Requirements

Currently enrolled in a university pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Operational Finance or related field.
Must be authorized to work in the US.
Must have a 3.0 GPA or higher

Responsibilities

Focusing on sales, profit margin, expenses and operational processes
Work with business intelligence tools to create snapshots of business unit performances
Track inventory
Evaluate profitability of our customer base
Complete financial reviews of customers to ensure credit worthiness
Identify benchmark metrics to predict future performances
Executing the monthly financial close process
Maintain the general ledger
