Accounting Director
About The Position
The Accounting Director serves as the onsite financial steward for a senior living community operating under a hybrid Target Operating Model (TOM). The role provides day-to-day accounting execution, support to residents and department heads, and real-time financial insight. The Accounting Director partners with centralized Centers of Excellence (COEs) and the Regional Finance Partner to support accuracy, compliance, and strategic alignment. The role is the primary onsite owner for accounting, billing, and financial matters affecting residents, vendors, and department leaders. It coordinates issues between the community, COEs, and Regional Finance and maintains operational continuity by following through on issues, including those executed by centralized teams. The Accounting Director also works with Marketing & Sales on prospective residents’ financial questions and qualification information, may participate in financial aspects of the closing process, and collaborates with the Revenue Cycle Management COE to resolve billing or account issues affecting resident satisfaction.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 6–8 years of accounting, finance, reporting, or audit experience.
- Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, accruals, financial statements, and reconciliations.
- Strong Excel skills and experience working across multiple financial systems.
Responsibilities

- Coordinate between the community, Centers of Excellence (COEs), and Regional Finance to ensure timely issue resolution.
- Maintain operational continuity by following through on issues, including when execution is performed by centralized teams.
- Collaborate with Marketing & Sales to answer prospective residents’ financial questions and gather financial qualification information.
- May participate in aspects of the closing process to support smooth financial onboarding.
- Collaborate with the Revenue Cycle Management COE on billing or account issues that may impact resident satisfaction and coordinate resolution with COEs.
