About The Position

The Accounting Coordinator supports Accounting and/or Tax leadership and Staff Accountants by performing recurring, detail-oriented activities that contribute to the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of the company’s financial records. This position assists with account reconciliations, ledger and transactional activities, documentation and supporting schedules, data maintenance, and accounting or tax-related processes across multiple entities and a high-volume environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 0-1+ years prior work experience (accounting support or transactional finance preferred).
  • Ability to sit for extended durations.
  • Ability to see (regularly or corrective) computer screen output and small print ledger information.
  • Detail‑oriented, organized, and dependable.
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to follow instructions and complete repetitive tasks accurately.
  • Ability to learn both in‑person and virtually.
  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with various departments.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Strong Excel capability, attention to detail, and the ability to consistently follow established procedures and controls, and the ability to quickly learn and apply accounting processes through in-person and virtual training.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and assist with recurring account reconciliations, including cash, general ledger, fixed asset, tax, and other assigned accounts; research discrepancies and escalate unusual items or variances as appropriate
  • Support routine accounting activities including journal entries, transaction processing, account research, ledger classification, supporting schedules, and maintenance of accurate financial records
  • Assist with the creation, capitalization, reconciliation, and ongoing maintenance of fixed assets and other accounting records, as applicable to the assigned area of responsibility
  • Support assigned tax and compliance activities, which may include sales and use tax, property tax, income tax, fixed asset reporting, customer exemption documentation, payment processing, and related reconciliations
  • Compile, organize, and maintain documentation necessary to support regulatory filings, tax payments, internal controls, audits, and other compliance requirements
  • Review accounting records and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness and identify discrepancies or potential control issues for appropriate review
  • Utilize the company’s ERP, tax, reporting, and other financial systems to review transactional data, perform reconciliations, maintain records, and generate supporting reports
  • Use Excel, including pivot tables and formula-based analysis, to analyze financial data, investigate variances, and support accounting and tax-related processes
  • Assist with maintaining data integrity and consistency across financial systems, reconciliation schedules, reporting tools, and third-party platforms
  • Collaborate with Accounting, Tax, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Collections, Payroll, Operations, Information Technology, and external service providers to research discrepancies, obtain documentation, and resolve accounting or reporting issues
  • Support recurring accounting and tax processes by following established procedures, checklists, controls, and documentation requirements
  • Assist with process improvements, system implementations, data initiatives, and special projects that improve the efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness of accounting operations
  • Assist with month-end and year-end activities, including reconciliations, journal entries, schedule updates, variance research, and preparation of supporting documentation
  • Prepare and maintain organized, audit-ready records for internal reviews, financial audits, tax audits, and regulatory inquiries
  • Perform other accounting, tax, and financial support responsibilities as assigned based on departmental and business needs
