About The Position

Our client is a private equity-backed healthcare services organization experiencing significant growth through recapitalization and acquisition activity. Following a recent recapitalization and acquisition, the company is seeking a hands-on Accounting Consultant (Manager/Director level) to help strengthen the accounting infrastructure, improve processes, and support scalability as the business continues to grow. This role would be ideal for a consultant who is technologically savvy, enjoys solving operational challenges, and has a track record of driving process improvement, systems integration, and accounting transformation initiatives. The Accounting Consultant will partner closely with leadership and the accounting team to assess current processes, identify inefficiencies, and implement scalable solutions. The organization currently operates with several manual processes and disconnected systems, creating an opportunity for an experienced consultant to improve workflows, automate processes, and help integrate a recent acquisition into the broader accounting and finance organization.

  • Strong understanding of accounting operations, internal controls, and financial reporting
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills with the ability to analyze and manipulate large datasets
  • Experience integrating acquisitions into existing accounting and finance processes strongly preferred
  • The ideal consultant will be someone who has implemented new tools, mapped things out, created new workflows, and made them more efficient while being technology-minded and process improvement oriented

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working within midsize ERP environments required; experience with Dynamics, NetSuite, Intacct, or similar platforms preferred.
  • Experience with Ramp (or similar financial automation tools like Bill.com or Stampli) is preferred
  • Healthcare industry experience is beneficial but not required
  • Nashville-area candidates are preferred, though highly qualified remote candidates will be considered

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate existing accounting processes and identify opportunities for automation, efficiency, and scalability
  • Assist the Controller and CFO with process improvement initiatives across the accounting function
  • Support the integration of a recent acquisition into the company's accounting processes, workflows, and reporting structure
  • Partner with accounting leadership to streamline month-end close and other key accounting procedures
  • Project manage the adoption of AP Automation software, including expense management, corporate card administration, approval workflows, policy enforcement, and integration with the general ledger.
  • Develop and document new workflows, controls, and procedures to improve operational effectiveness
  • Analyze data, create reporting tools, and leverage advanced Excel capabilities to drive decision-making
  • Help position the accounting organization for future growth and potential ERP enhancements or migrations
