The Arizona Auditor General serves as an independent source of impartial information concerning State and local governmental entities and provides specific recommendations to improve the operations of those entities. We achieve our mission through the thoroughly specific research, audits, and investigations of our professional team members who educate stakeholders through our reports, alerts, and reviews. Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Accounting or CPA license.
- Strong interest in public service and improving State government.
- Strong analytical, research, critical thinking, time management, and verbal and written communication skills.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills.
- Must have valid Arizona driver's license and reliable transportation.
Responsibilities
- Review audit reports and financial statements.
- Research and answer accounting and compliance questions.
- Prepare and present workshops.
- Review impact of new laws on local governments.
- Determine compliance with laws and regulations.
- Prepare working papers.
- Develop and communicate findings and recommendations.
- Analyze data using software applications.
- Occasionally travel out of town to work with rural clients and small districts.
