Sternberg, Inc is searching for a motivated Accountant for our fast-growing dealership. The position will be in Jasper, IN, but primarily supporting our Louisville operations. Requirements

Associate degree in Accounting or Business
1-2 years in accounting position preferred; office environment experience preferred
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Good communication skills and eagerness to improve
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Responsibilities

Support monthly financial close, including calculating and posting daily, weekly, and monthly transactions
Review financial statement accounts and schedules; review income statements and balance sheets
Complete monthly GM financial statement according to manufacturer guidelines
Complete new vehicle reporting requirements with manufacturers
Post monthly accounting and calculate related commissions; work with sales reps, as needed
Monthly bank reconciliations
Prepare and file sales, use, tire, and rental tax returns
Work with sales and operations to ensure manufacturer accounts are current and accurate
Monitor cash flow to ensure daily cash needs are met
Streamline processes and procedures; drive improved analytical tools
Foster teamwork across all departments
