Requirements

• Proven experience working as an accounting clerk or in a similar bookkeeping role within corporate or governmental accounting settings.
• Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, or UltiPro is essential.
• Strong understanding of financial concepts including debits & credits, journal entries, general ledger reconciliation, and account analysis.
• Experience handling accounts payable/receivable processes with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Demonstrated ability to perform balance sheet reconciliations and manage multiple financial tasks efficiently using 10 key typing skills and double-entry bookkeeping techniques.

Responsibilities

• Perform data entry and maintain accurate records within accounting software such as QuickBooks, Encompass, Sage, or Workday.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment scheduling, and collections.
• Assist with month-end closing activities in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
• Conduct account reconciliation tasks to verify accuracy across multiple ledgers and financial reports.
• Assist with financial reporting, including preparing schedules for audits and supporting documentation for internal controls such as SOX compliance.
• Perform routine bookkeeping tasks such as data entry, double-entry bookkeeping, and maintaining detailed records for non-profit or governmental accounting environments.
