About The Position
Direct Hire Accounting Clerk We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Clerk to support our accounting operations, with a focus on Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and general financial administration. Located in LaPorte
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Experience with accounting software and data entry
- High attention to detail with strong analytical and organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong sense of urgency and accountability
Responsibilities
- Accounts Payable (A/P) Receive, review, and verify vendor invoices with proper documentation and approvals
- Enter invoices into the AP system for payment processing
- Schedule and process payments (check, ACH, wire) in accordance with payment terms
- Maintain vendor relationships, resolve discrepancies, and ensure accurate vendor files (including W-9s)
- Complete credit applications for new vendors
- Accounts Receivable (A/R) Create and send customer invoices
- Coordinate collection efforts with Customer Service Liaison
- Obtain credit reports and verify credit references for new customers
- Expense & Financial Support Review and process employee expense reports in compliance with company policy
- Assist with month-end close activities, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Reconcile bank statements and support monthly reporting requirements
- Record Keeping & Compliance Maintain accurate and organized financial records
- Support internal audits and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
- Handle sensitive and confidential financial information with discretion
