About The Position

Heyl, Royster, Voelker & Allen, P.C., is a large, fast-paced law firm seeking a motivated, organized, and reliable individual for a full-time Accounting Clerk position in our Peoria office. A DAY IN THE LIFE AS AN ACCOUNTING CLERK As an Accounting Clerk, you will independently manage various accounting area processes using accounting software, billing sites, and other programs. You will initially spend most of your time independently managing accounts payable using accounting software and other programs. You will reliably and accurately handle accounts payable for several office locations and vendors. You will excel at ensuring bills are paid in a timely and correct manner while adhering to departmental procedures. You will process due invoices for payments. Do you have solid communication skills? Requirements

  • Associate degree in Accounting and prior accounting experience preferred
  • Previous work experience as an Accounting Clerk
  • Exceptional computer skills working with Microsoft Office
  • Must have hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software
  • Excellent understanding of basic bookkeeping principles
  • Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records
  • Outstanding degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Despite a fast pace and short timeframes, you excel and are efficient and thorough with multiple large volume tasks
  • strong analytical and problem-solving skills to help improve processes and documentation to minimize errors
  • Must be able to pass a background check
