About The Position

This role involves transferring data from various sources into databases and spreadsheets, ensuring accuracy in data entry and spreadsheet creation. The Accounting Clerk will handle tasks such as invoicing, bill payment, payroll data entry, statement reconciliation, and maintaining vendor credit applications. The position requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and proficiency in various software applications.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, Associates degree (preferred) or experience to compensate.
  • One or more years of work experience in data entry, accounting department, payroll department, or a mixture of all three.
  • One year experience with Microsoft Suite, Google Drive, payroll software, and accounts receivable/accounts payable.
  • Proficient typist.

  • Organizational Skills.
  • Knowledge of Office Equipment.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Proficient in personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, and graphics.
  • Above-average knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Google Drive.
  • Capability of reviewing work for errors and making necessary adjustments.
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for 90 percent of the time while operating a computer and performing office work.
  • Ability to occasionally move about inside the office.
  • Constant operation of a computer and other office productivity machinery (calculator, copy machine, fax machine, computer printer/scanner).
  • Ability to exchange accurate information with customers and others in the office.
  • Ability to regularly move up to 15 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers and answer phones, directing calls appropriately.
  • Transfer data from paper, text, pictures, and emails into computer files and databases.
  • Enter and upload payroll data, verifying it using Teletrac/Director or GPS.
  • Create and maintain spreadsheets on Google Drive and Microsoft Excel without mistakes.
  • Handle invoicing, enter bills, and pay invoices/bills.
  • Match transactions to receipts and perform statement reconciliation.
  • Verify data by comparing it to source documents.
  • Update existing data.
  • Retrieve data from databases or files as requested.
  • Perform regular backups to ensure data preservation.
  • Sort and organize paperwork after data entry.
  • Contact vendors, employees, and customers for receipts, invoices, or additional information.
  • Process credit applications for vendors.
  • Perform other assigned tasks and duties.
