About The Position

The Accounting Clerk is required to have a basic understanding of GAAP and financial principles. They will participate in the preparation of several tasks such as data entry, filing, journal entries, ledger entries, and other financial reports. They will also assist in the completion of projects by completing tasks, audits, and reports for the accounting team. As a supporting function to the accounting team, they will gain skills and knowledge that will help them develop further in their careers. Requirements

  • Must be a recent graduate or in the process of obtaining a bachelor's or master's degree in accounting.
  • Proficient with computers and office 365 programs (especially Excel).
  • Basic understanding of GAAP and introductory principles of accounting and finance.
  • Basic understanding of accounting software.
  • High level of efficiency, accuracy, and responsibility.
  • Ability to work independently with general guidance and direction.
  • Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership.

Responsibilities

  • Active participation in Wawona Frozen Foods' Safety program to maintain a healthy and injury-free environment.
  • Participate in training and company meetings to facilitate individual and company growth.
  • Compliance with all GMP, HAACP, Food Safety, Food Defense, and SQF policies and procedures.
  • Empowered to notify and/or act in response to any issues or concerns within the scope of work.
  • Shadowing members of the accounting department as they perform their duties.
  • Assist with data entry, filing, research, and recording and maintaining accurate and complete financial records.
  • Handling sensitive and/or confidential information appropriately.
  • Assists with the organization and maintenance of accounting records such as journals, ledgers, and bank reconciliations.
  • Assists with the preparation of financial audit.
  • Reconciliation of Balance Sheet Accounts.
  • Ability to perform other duties as assigned.
