About The Position

The Accounting Clerk is responsible for petty cash, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable. Account Payable duties include processing invoices, obtaining approvals, coding, keying, monitoring the Account Payable inbox, communicating with vendors and setting up vendors in the accounting system. Accounts Receivable duties include recording resident rent payments, daily depositing of checks, and recording miscellaneous receipts. Additional support of activities in the accounting office, including data entry, filing, preparing new files and other functions as requested. Prompt and regular attendance is required for this role. Remote work is not available for this role.

Requirements

  • High school diploma with a minimum of two years post high school education with relevant work experience.

  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Effective communications skills both verbally and written
  • Ability to develop and maintain rapport with consumers, constituents, and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain petty cash. Reconcile petty cash as needed.
  • Coding and entering of daily Accounts Payable entries and month-end closing procedures
  • Monthly Accounts Receivable duties include recording rent payments and miscellaneous receipts.
  • Prepare daily check deposits for all corporations remotely using bank website. Deliver cash deposits to bank, as needed.
  • Filing and scanning as required.
  • Serve as back up for Front Desk Receptionist during absences.
  • Other duties as assigned (research projects, year-end preparation)
  • Deliver deposits to bank.
  • Cross-training and assisting with other Accounting Department functions as requested
  • Operate in compliance with personnel policies and practices.
  • Promote the mission and values of Mental Health America of South Central Kansas.
  • Attending staff meetings and training as required.
  • Completing required electronic time records/time sheets, mileage sheets, expense sheets and other agency-required paperwork accurately and on time.
