About The Position

The Accounting Clerk provides onsite, day-to-day accounting support for Chesapeake Employers Insurance Arena at UMBC. The position handles transactional accounting activities and works closely with the General Manager and venue departments. The Regional Director of Finance provides financial oversight and direction for the account. This is an onsite, part-time position scheduled approximately 30 hours per week during regular business hours. This role pays an hourly rate of $19.45-$24.31

Requirements

1-2+ years of accounting, bookkeeping, or related financial experience preferred.
Associate's or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate financial records.
Ability to handle cash and financial transactions accurately and responsibly.
Knowledge of NetSuite, Coupa, and ADP preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently onsite while collaborating with a Regional Director of Finance who may be based elsewhere.

Responsibilities

Process AP invoices, including coding, documentation, and routing for approvals.
Prepare AR billings, send statements, and follow up on outstanding balances.
Prepare bank deposits and assist with recording and reconciling banking activity.
Provide payroll input, reconciliation, and routine payroll support.
Process Box Office and ticketing reports and record related transactions.
Review employee expense reports for documentation and policy compliance.
Assist with event settlements and related financial transactions.
Prepare routine journal entries as directed by the Regional Director of Finance.
Reconcile assigned balance sheet and general ledger accounts.
Assist with month-end close procedures and supporting schedules.
Maintain accounting records and supporting documentation.
Assist with audit requests and supporting schedules.
Provide onsite Finance support to the General Manager and venue departments during business hours.
Coordinate with departments to obtain approvals and documentation.
Respond to vendor inquiries and assist with invoice/payment issues.
Assist with accounting for in-house food and beverage operations.
Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned.
