About The Position

The Cowichan Valley Regional District (CVRD) is seeking an Accounting Clerk III for the Financial Operation Division within the Corporate Services Department. This position is responsible for providing varied and complex financial support services. Key duties include maintaining the utilities master file, assisting the public and other departments with financial information, reconciling sub-ledgers, processing accounts payable, managing and reconciling purchasing cards, generating reports, reconciling general ledger accounts, and processing and maintaining accounts receivable accounts. The CVRD is located on Vancouver Island, offering a desirable climate and numerous recreational and cultural opportunities.

Requirements

  • Two-year diploma in business administration (or related) with a specialization in accounting from a recognized post-secondary educational institution
  • Two years of related experience, preferably with Regional/Municipal Government

Responsibilities

  • Providing varied and complex financial support services
  • Maintenance of the utilities master file
  • Providing information to the public and other departments
  • Reconciliation of sub ledgers
  • Processing of accounts payable
  • Maintaining/reconciling purchasing cards
  • Generating reports
  • Reconciliation of general ledger accounts
  • Processing and maintaining of accounts receivable accounts
