About The Position

This role is the backbone of day-to-day accounting operations. The Accounting Clerk ensures financial records are accurate, complete, and up to date by performing a range of essential clerical and accounting tasks. From reconciling bank accounts to supporting monthly close activities, this position plays a key role in keeping the numbers balanced and the business running smoothly. Work is performed under general supervision, with completed tasks reviewed for accuracy and adherence to established accounting standards.

Requirements

  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • One or more years of relevant experience in an accounting or finance-related role

Responsibilities

  • Execute standardized accounting processes, including reviewing, verifying, and correcting financial transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Reconcile bank accounts and maintain general and subsidiary ledgers by posting, balancing, and validating entries
  • Process payments, invoices, and other accounting documents in accordance with established procedures
  • Ensure expenditures remain within approved account obligations
  • Code financial documents using the established chart of accounts
  • Review general ledger accounts and system-generated reports against manual records to identify and resolve discrepancies
  • Prepare journal entries and documentation to adjust accounting classifications and data as needed
  • Investigate transactions rejected by automated systems, determine root causes, and prepare corrective documentation
  • Support monthly close activities and other accounting projects as assigned
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and internal controls
