Position Overview We are seeking a highly organized, fast-thinking Accounting Catch-Up Specialist to join our accounting services team. This role is focused exclusively on catch-up bookkeeping for small business clients whose books are behind and need to be brought current efficiently and accurately. This is a production-oriented role requiring efficiency, prioritization, and the ability to manage multiple client accounts simultaneously. This is not a routine data-entry bookkeeping position. The ideal candidate enjoys solving problems, identifying patterns, working efficiently under pressure, and bringing structure to incomplete financial information. The ideal person works with urgency, learns technology quickly, and thrives in a fast-paced environment managing multiple client accounts simultaneously. This position reports directly to the Client Advisory Manager for Accounting Services.

Requirements

  • Prior bookkeeping or accounting experience
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online and/or Xero
  • Strong technology aptitude and ability to learn systems quickly
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail while working efficiently
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in an accounting firm or Client Advisory Services environment
  • Experience bringing books current for multiple small business clients
  • Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills
  • Experience with accounting workflow and project management tools

Responsibilities

  • Perform catch-up bookkeeping for multiple small business clients
  • Reconcile bank and credit card accounts
  • Categorize, code, and organize financial transactions
  • Research and resolve discrepancies
  • Maintain accuracy while meeting deadlines
  • Communicate proactively regarding missing information and outstanding items
  • Utilize accounting technology and workflow tools efficiently
  • Track progress and maintain organized documentation
