About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Associate to support our Community Management accounting team. This role is responsible for providing day-to-day accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) support. Requirements

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 0-3 years of accounting, bookkeeping, administrative, or other relevant experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized and efficient, with the ability to prioritize multiple and varied tasks.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in the multi-family real estate industry a plus.
  • Knowledge of NetSuite and Entrata a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Process vendor invoices, ensuring proper coding and approvals.
  • Verify vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.
  • Review invoices for accuracy, appropriate documentation, and compliance with company policies.
  • Generate AP payments and issue for review, signature, and mailing.
  • Maintain vendor records and respond to vendor inquiries.
  • Assist with 1099 preparation and year-end reporting.
  • Monitor resident receivables across assigned communities.
  • Support monthly AR reconciliations and reporting.
  • Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies.
  • Liaison with 3rd party collections partners.
  • Assist with monthly close procedures, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Reconcile bank accounts and cash balances.
  • Maintain organized accounting records and documentation.
  • Support audits and provide requested documentation.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance efficiency and internal controls.
  • Other duties as assigned.
