About The Position

This is a full-time on-site position located in Augusta; telework is not available for this role. As an Accounting Associate I, you will process child support payments by opening and reviewing daily mail; recording payments received from non-custodial parents; performing accurate data entry and record retention; and disbursing funds to custodial parents in a timely manner in compliance with state and federal regulations. You will verify individual case information to determine public assistance enrollment status and calculate appropriate child support payment amounts in accordance with established guidelines. You will also provide customer service and support to internal and external customers by responding to inquiries, resolving issues, and delivering accurate information in a courteous and timely manner. Collaborate with team members to improve processes, resolve issues, and achieve department goals. Requirements

  • Competency in applying a solid knowledge of bookkeeping principles and practices necessary to perform complex work in maintaining specialized accounting and financial records.
  • Ability to use independent judgment in handling exceptions to established work assignments, priorities, and schedules.
  • Proven examples where initiative and attention to detail contributed to operational process improvements.
  • An ability to be flexible and adjust to business needs while balancing multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines are essential.
  • Outstanding customer service skills coupled with a strong work ethic and ability to excel while working with multiple stakeholders to achieve common goals.

  • A proven ability to enter a considerable number of transactions yielding a high level of accuracy.

Responsibilities
