About The Position

EHDD is seeking a motivated Accounting Assistant to join their team and support their San Francisco and Seattle offices. In this role, the assistant will help prepare and maintain accurate financial data across a variety of accounting functions, gaining hands-on experience in a collaborative, supportive environment. The company is looking for someone who is organized, eager to learn, and has a foundational understanding of accounting principles. Strong attention to detail and a willingness to grow with the team are highly valued. This position is based at EHDD's San Francisco headquarters.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of experience in a business or professional services environment.
  • Solid understanding of general accounting principles and demonstrated experience with accounting basics.
  • Strong numerical aptitude with high accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Impeccable attention to detail, exceptional follow-through, and strong organizational skills.
  • Highly organized and deadline-driven; able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive work ethic and the ability to work independently.
  • Courteous, approachable, and team-oriented; able to interact professionally with employees, clients, and vendors.
  • Ability to maintain the highest level of professionalism and confidentiality at all times.
  • Manages all work with honesty and integrity.
  • Willingness to embrace new technologies and continuously strive for greater efficiencies through process or technology improvements.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the AEC (Architecture, Engineering, Construction) industry
  • Experience with Deltek software; two or more years preferred.
  • Experience with light coding or automation tools.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain proper approvals and process vendor invoices
  • Coordinate and resolve discrepancies with vendors, including engineering consultants and other suppliers.
  • Audit and process employee expense reports accurately and on schedule.
  • Prepare and accurately process weekly payment runs.
  • Manage credit card receipts and entries.
  • Continuous maintenance and organization of accounting records.
  • Assist with bi-weekly payroll processing and weekly timesheet management.
  • Support the preparation of monthly management reporting.
  • Support general office administrative functions as needed.
