About The Position

As an Accounting Analyst, you will be supporting the day-to-day transactional accounting activities within the general ledger and financial close process. You will be responsible for preparing journal entries, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring timely and complete account reconciliations to support month-end close and financial reporting. This is a hybrid role working a minimum of 3 days per week in our Brampton office.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • 2-3 years experience in general accounting or transactional finance
  • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Knowledgeable in accounting principles
  • Ability to manage deadlines and work within tight timelines
  • Analytical mindset with problem-solving capability
  • Proficiency with Excel is a must

Nice To Haves

  • experience with ERP systems is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and post manual and semi-automated journal entries for month-end close, including accruals, allocations, and adjustments, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting policies
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to gather information required for accruals (e.g. payroll, expenses, reserves)
  • Perform balance sheet account reconciliations (e.g. AR, AP, inventory, intercompany, bank, accrual liabilities)
  • Investigate, analyze, and resolve reconciliation discrepancies and account variances in a timely manner
  • Maintain organized supporting schedules and documentation to ensure audit readiness
  • Support month-end close process by completing assigned tasks, meeting deadlines, and assisting with financial reporting activities
  • Conduct variance analysis and assist in identifying and resolving unusual transactions or account fluctuations and collaborate with accounting leadership to resolve discrepancies
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, approval workflows, accounting standards, and company policies
  • Provide support for internal and external audits by preparing documentation (journal entries and reconciliations) and responding to auditor requests
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiencies in journal entry, accrual and reconciliation processes
  • Maintain the integrity and accuracy of financial data across the general ledger and supporting subledgers.
  • Support system enhancements, automation initiatives, and process improvements within ERP platforms such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365).
