Accounting Analyst
About The Position
Our client is looking for an Accounting Analyst to join the corporate accounting team. This is a hands-on, full-cycle general ledger accounting role responsible for supporting the month-end close, maintaining the integrity of the general ledger, and providing financial analysis and insight to the business. The Accounting Analyst will work closely with the Corporate Controller and broader accounting team and will have visibility across the organization. This is a great opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys a mix of day-to-day accounting responsibilities and analytical work and is looking to grow within a corporate accounting environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 2+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and month-end close processes
- Experience with account reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and financial statement analysis
- Ability to analyze financial results and clearly explain variances and trends
- Strong Excel skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a broader accounting team
- Strong communication skills and a desire to continue developing professionally
Nice To Haves
- Experience with NetSuite strongly preferred
Responsibilities
- Perform full-cycle general ledger accounting activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and account analysis
- Support the monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close processes
- Prepare and review balance sheet account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
- Analyze monthly financial results and identify significant variances to budget, forecast, and prior periods
- Research unusual or unexpected account activity and provide explanations and recommendations to management
- Assist with preparation of monthly financial reporting and supporting schedules
- Maintain accurate and complete accounting records in accordance with GAAP and company policies
- Partner with internal teams to gather information, resolve accounting questions, and ensure accurate financial reporting
- Assist with audit requests and provide supporting documentation as needed
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting, and internal controls
- Support other corporate accounting and financial analysis initiatives as needed
