About The Position

Contributes to the operational excellence of Finance Operations by providing business application expertise during the analysis, design, construction, and testing phases of a system development life cycle. Disseminates best practices, provides technical assistance and completes special projects as requested.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of prior Accounting or Finance experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in system testing, user acceptance testing (UAT) is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Accounting, Finance or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes business requirements and system enhancements, executes testing, validation, and monthly reconciliation activities during the folio commission payment cycle, and collaborates with business and IT teams to support accurate financial processing, defect resolution, and continuous process improvement.
  • Assists in the planning, testing, and implementation of new applications, systems, and procedures.
  • Prepares analysis, design, and validation documentation.
  • Aids application developers and systems programmers in running jobs to test programs and debugs issues.
  • Writes detailed test cases for moderate to complex projects within agile methodology, supporting fast-paced sprint cycles and aggressive timelines based on requirements outlined in technical documents.
  • Records and executes moderate to complex test scenarios, comparing actual results with expected results, and analyzes any discrepancies that occur.
  • Identifies, documents, and tracks all system or application defects, providing complete details and attaching documents relevant to defect resolution.
  • Retests duplicate scenario once programming changes have been completed.
  • Participates in the creation of user training materials.
  • Provides technical support to business units and personnel on existing and new systems as well as system enhancements.
  • Interacts as necessary with developers, technicians, vendors, customers, and management on Customer and Computing Services issues.
  • Communicates testing progress, implementation status, risks, dependencies, and business impacts to management and cross-functional teams; demonstrates system changes and testing outcomes during PI Planning, System Demos, and related Agile events to support informed decision-making, stakeholder alignment, and successful delivery of enhancements.
  • Performs post deployment shakeout verification.
  • Develops, maintains, and enhances Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), process documentation, forms, and work instructions by analyzing existing processes, implementing improvements, and creating or revising documentation to support accounting operations, testing activities, compliance requirements, and knowledge transfer initiatives.
  • Provides feedback and validates functional testing standards, cap projects, and process improvements, including testing automation.
  • Peer reviews test plans prepared by functional testers or other business partners.
  • Performs other functions and projects as assigned.
  • Continues to build subject matter expertise and personal skill set by participating in in-house or outside insurance / industry related courses / seminars as deemed necessary to expand product / system knowledge.
  • Promotes safety at all times and complies with safety/ergonomic standards as outlined in relevant company published manuals.
