Smith & Associates, CPAs is seeking an Accounting & Advisory Associate (CPA Candidate or CPA Preferred) to join our collaborative team in Yarmouth. This role offers hands-on experience across tax, audit, and client accounting work, with direct client interaction. Requirements

  • 3–7 years of experience in public accounting, ideally with audit and financial statement work.
  • CPA or active CPA candidate is preferred.
  • Excellent customer service skills with a client-focused approach.
  • Strong communication, organization, and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Comfortable using technology and adapting to change.
  • Positive team player who is willing to jump in and help where needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Audit or attest experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare individual, business, and nonprofit tax returns.
  • Participate in audit, review, and compilation engagements.
  • Prepare financial statements and supporting workpapers.
  • Communicate directly with clients throughout engagements.
  • Assist with accounting and business client projects.
  • Support improvements to internal processes and workflows.
  • Collaborate with firm leadership and staff across service areas.
  • Contribute to a positive, team-oriented work environment.

  • Salary range: $75,000 – $90,000.
