About The Position

Phenix Label Company is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting & Administrative Coordinator to support daily accounting functions, office administration, and employee support activities. This role plays a key part in maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with payroll and benefits administration, coordinating employee programs, and supporting front office operations. The ideal candidate has strong accounting or bookkeeping experience, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple administrative responsibilities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or related field preferred
  • 2–5 years of accounting, bookkeeping, or administrative experience
  • Experience with Accounts Payable, payroll support, or financial data entry
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and business systems
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Candidates must be willing to live in or relocate to the Kansas City area.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily Accounts Payable data entry, ensuring invoices are processed accurately and on time.
  • Reconcile benefit carrier billing statements to ensure accuracy and proper billing.
  • Assist with payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and timely completion of payroll tasks.
  • Support accounting functions by maintaining accurate financial records and documentation.
  • Manage the filing process for job tickets in Radius, including marking tasks complete, generating reports, creating file labels, and organizing physical folders.
  • Assist with completing and maintaining job tickets and related documentation.
  • Answer incoming phone calls, greet visitors, and manage building access to ensure a welcoming environment for employees and guests.
  • Oversee the employee lunch program, including billing, card distribution, and employee setup.
  • Ensure the breakroom is stocked with water and necessary supplies for employees and visitors.
  • Maintain general office organization and assist with administrative projects.
  • Organize and maintain electronic HR files, ensuring documentation is accurate and easily accessible.
  • Assist with processing new hires, transfers, and terminations in the HRIS and related systems.
  • Provide support to employees with HR system log-ins and troubleshooting.
  • Assist with the open enrollment process, helping ensure employees are informed and properly enrolled in benefit plans.
  • Assist with coordinating and administering employee performance reviews, ensuring timely completion and documentation.
  • Support the company wellness program and related initiatives.
  • Organize and coordinate company events and employee engagement activities.
  • Coordinate the years of service recognition program for employee milestones.
  • Manage the employee birthday recognition program.
  • Post anniversaries, birthdays, and company announcements.
  • Maintain and update breakroom communication slides.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management to support departmental and organizational goals.
