Jones Petroleum is in the process of interviewing candidates for an Accountant position for Jackson, GA office. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: This position will be responsible for completing month-end close processes and monthly general ledger tasks, including bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and other general ledger analysis. Reports to the Accounting Manager SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform daily banking duties as assigned and monitor cash balances. Reconcile bank statements to general ledger. Oversee sales tax calculations and remittance. Reconcile balance sheet accounts. Prepaid expenses, accrued expenses and other monthly journal entries. Timely monthly close of the financial statements Effective communication with the Accounting Manager on P&L status and bank reporting Preparation of audit schedules and completion of other projects assigned. Complete month and end-year processes Process license renewals for all locations. Answer questions and resolve issues presented by internal and external customers. This introductory period is designed, primarily, to give both the Company and the employee an opportunity to determine whether the employee will be able to adequately perform in the assigned job position.
