About The Position

The accountant brings solid accounting expertise and supports the financial health of the organization through sound financial stewardship. The accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, performing financial analysis, and ensuring compliance with accounting regulations and Launch policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, related field, or equivalent experience
  • At least 4 years’ experience in accounting, non-profit experience required.
  • Proficiency in Quickbooks Online, experience with QBO required.
  • Strong Microsoft 365 skills, especially Excel
  • Strong Microsoft TEAMS skills
  • Basic understanding of non-profit accounting and FASB
  • Knowledge of fund accounting and financial reporting for nonprofit organizations
  • Basic understanding of GAAP and other financial regulations
  • Experience in grant accounting, both conditional and unconditional
  • Experience creating and maintaining Dashboard’s.
  • Ability to critically analyze data and processes.
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task, and prioritize appropriately.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work with high volume of transactions and maintain high level of accuracy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A positive attitude and very strong customer service orientation
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience as a full-charge accountant is desirable.
  • A.I. experience as it relates to accounting is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards (FASB, IRS regulations).
  • Record daily financial transactions and reconcile general ledger accounts.
  • Maintain the integrity of the link between the payroll system (Paylocity) and the ERP (Quickbooks Online)
  • Maintain the integrity of the link between the childcare subsystem (Procare) and the ERP
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management, funders, and board presentations.
  • Support grant management by tracking restricted funds, ensuring compliance with grant agreements, and preparing financial reports for funders.
  • Assist with budget preparations.
  • Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Maintain and monitor budgets and forecasts.
  • Prepare supporting documentation for the year-end financial audit.
  • Ensures accurate coding of expenses.
  • Collaborate with program staff to support financial understanding and budget adherence.
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and systems.
