About The Position

This role involves performing the full cycle Income Producing Property (IPP) accounting for multiple properties, with a specific focus on Commercial and Multifamily Rental asset classes. The accountant will also complete ad hoc projects, prepare annual financials for lender reviews, and quarterly financials for Investor Reporting. Key responsibilities include liaising with property, leasing, and asset management teams, preparing year-end working papers for auditors, and producing monthly financial statements, working papers, cash flow statements, and asset summaries. The role also oversees the AP and AR cycle for the assigned portfolio, manages cash for working capital, prepares distributions and funding requests, and is responsible for preparing annual property budgets and quarterly forecasts.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor of Business/Commerce, major in Accounting, or related field, or financial management certificate
  • 3+ years of experience in Accounting
  • Experience with multiple property accounting (preferably with commercial and multifamily rental)
  • A proven ability to work effectively within a fast-paced environment
  • A willingness to learn, great time management skills and a high degree of energy, work ethic and are detail oriented
  • Strong computer skills with competency in Excel, Word and Yardi Voyager
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communications skills

Responsibilities
