About The Position

This position is in the Office of Tax and Revenue (OTR), Revenue Accounting Administration (RAA). The incumbent performs accounting analysis functions concerning the taxes/fees administered by OTR. Duties include, but are not limited to: recording financial transactions and activities; compiling data and preparing reports for management officials; coordinating the gathering of information for internal and external audits; independently performing research sufficient to provide concise graphical, oral, or written summarization reports to management concerning conclusions and recommendations for action; meeting with management and leadership to ensure compliance with RAA organizational goals and initiatives; and reconciling revenue between the District Integrated Financial System (DIFS) and the Modernized Integrated Tax System (MITS). Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Two (2) years of progressive experience performing responsibilities such as processing and reconciling financial transactions, assisting with preparation of financial reports, and verifying accuracy of financial data.
  • A bachelor’s degree earned at an accredited US institution in accounting or related field such as business administration, finance, or public administration that included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting. This can include up to six (6) hours of business law.
  • Applicants must submit an official transcript that verifies a bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field and 24 semester credit hours in accounting in order to be considered.
  • If applicable, your application package must include a foreign credential course by course evaluation of all foreign transcripts. Acceptable foreign credential equivalency reports must be provided by organizations that have current membership with the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) or the Association of International Credential Evaluators (AICE).
