About The Position

U-Haul International is seeking a staff accountant interested in advancing in responsibility. The role supports routine month-end close, general accounting, balance sheet maintenance, reconciliations, and financial statement analysis. The successful candidate is expected to be goal-oriented, creative, communicative, organized, attentive to detail, and able to work both independently and collaboratively. The position is located at 20 E Thomas Rd, Phoenix, Arizona 85012. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require employer sponsorship. Candidates must complete interviews and assessments independently, without AI assistance.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
Strong oral and written communication and listening skills.
Excellent attention to detail.
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize, multitask, and work well under pressure.
Ability to balance time during busy quarterly and annual reporting seasons.
Self-motivated and able to work independently and collaboratively.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require employer sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

Two to three years of relevant work experience in public accounting is preferred.
Knowledge and experience with SAP general ledger.

Responsibilities

Complete routine month-end close procedures within prescribed timeframes accurately and on time.
Prepare monthly recurring and general accounting journal entries in accordance with GAAP.
Maintain balance sheet accounts and perform monthly account reconciliations.
Analyze financial statement trends and explain fluctuations.
Create documentation of processes and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
