About The Position

CARITAS is seeking an Accountant to join their team. This is a new, full-time, exempt position that reports directly to the CFO and is an on-site role. The ideal candidate is technically driven, approachable, communicates well, and collaborates effectively. The role focuses on two main areas: Grant Management and general Accounting functions. Requirements

5+ years of broad accounting experience
Accounting degree
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Office and Google Suite experience (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)

QuickBooks experience

Responsibilities

Manage grants, including revenue recognition, compiling required reports for awarding entities, submitting reimbursement invoices, and maintaining detailed grant files to ensure expenses, restricted funds, and deferred revenue are recorded appropriately.
Work closely with the Development team to ensure alignment on revenue and expense targets.
Reconcile with the Development team.
Support annual audits.
Prepare journal entries.
Perform account reconciliations.
Ensure compliance with GAAP Principles.
Assist with audits to ensure compliance.
Support month-end and year-end close.
Assist with preparation of budgets and forecasts.
Generate monthly reports and metrics.
Handle reimbursement submissions, report submissions, and other grant-related activities.
