About The Position

The Corporate Accounting Department has immediate openings for a Senior and Intermediate Accountant. The accountant’s role will be to ensure accurate and timely accounting and reporting processes in a strong control environment. These roles will assist with supporting the Federal Reserve System which includes System IT. This is a great opportunity to utilize IT accounting knowledge including software development and skills applicable to technology projects and considerations.

Requirements

  • The Intermediate level Accountant will have 3 to 5 years of relevant experience, and the Senior level Accountant will have a minimum of 5 to 9+ years of relevant work experience
  • Minimum of 3 years working with GAAP.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field required, MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • CPA preferred.
  • Organized and detail-oriented with a high degree of data accuracy and integrity.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving ability appropriate for subjects and issues of moderate complexity

Responsibilities

  • In accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) standards, Federal Reserve policies, and best practices: Investigate a broad spectrum of accounting issues, developing explanations of financial performance and other complex financial reports, participates in coordinating quarterly and/or annual reporting efforts
  • Prepare, review, and analyze complex accounting records, financial statements, and other large scale financial activities.
  • Develop, prepare, maintain, and reconcile accounting and fixed asset ledgers.
  • Record capital assets and verify expenditures.
  • Interpret contract language to determine the proper accounting treatment of transactions as it relates to GAAP and FRB accounting guidelines.
  • Perform standard monthly accrual journal entries and reporting, and/or ad-hoc project assignments which require planning, research and analysis.
  • Analyze business operations, trends, and financial commitments to project future outcomes.
  • Identify and address discrepancies and irregularities and implement solutions as appropriate.
  • Clarify, implement, and document procedures, e.g., treatment of labor capitalization, cloud-transition costs, and software accounting.
  • Provide guidance and direction to team members, partners, and customers on accounting issues
  • Project assignments which require planning, research, and analysis.
  • Other duties as assigned or requested.
