About The Position

Our client in the Agricultural industry is seeking an experienced Accountant to join their team based in Kirkwood, Eastern Cape. This role involves overseeing financial operations, including producer payments, reconciliations, and foreign currency transactions, with a focus on the citrus packing and export activities.

Requirements

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a financial accounting role.
• Strong understanding of cost accounting and reconciliation processes.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Exposure to ERP/accounting systems such as Syspro and QX.

Nice To Haves

• Experience preferably within agriculture, fruit exports, or FMCG.
• Experience with foreign currency transactions and banking processes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the configuration and administration of Citrus time pools within internal systems.
• Prepare and process producer payments and remittance statements accurately and timeously.
• Reconcile sales, commission, and general ledger accounts.
• Process commercial invoices and manage balance sheet control accounts.
• Assist with cash flow planning and foreign exchange transaction monitoring.
• Supervise foreign currency bank accounts and related currency contracts.
• Administer debtors and creditors in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Maintain strong working knowledge of the company's operational and financial systems relevant to citrus packing and export activities.
• Monitor and interpret overseas market performance to support financial planning and reporting.
