About The Position

EAC Network, a leading not-for-profit social service agency, is seeking a dedicated full-time Accountant for its Finance Department. This role is crucial for supporting the organization's accounting and financial operations, including government contract billing, accounts receivable, financial reporting, allocations, reconciliations, and compliance. The Accountant will collaborate with Finance and program staff to ensure accurate financial records, timely billing, and adherence to organizational and funder requirements.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three years of accounts receivable or related accounting experience.
  • Basic understanding of accounting debits and credits.
  • Good math skills, including an understanding of percentages and allocations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, databases, and finance/accounting software.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and data entry skills.
  • Experience with reconciliations, financial recordkeeping, and financial reporting.
  • Ability to analyze financial information, identify discrepancies, and manage multiple deadlines and priorities.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with nonprofit accounting.
  • Experience with government contract billing, claims, or grant accounting.
  • Experience with Sage Intacct or similar accounting software.
  • Experience preparing financial schedules, cost allocations, or regulatory reports.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and submit claims, invoices, and billing for government-funded programs and contracts.
  • Enter claims, billing, and related financial data into finance systems accurately and timely.
  • Gather, review, and maintain required backup documentation to support claims, billing, audits, and funder requests.
  • Record, monitor, and reconcile accounts receivable activity.
  • Track and analyze program expenditures against approved contract and grant budgets.
  • Prepare financial schedules, allocations, and supporting documentation for agency programs and departments.
  • Complete and support required financial reports, including the Consolidated Fiscal Report (CFR).
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end accounting processes.
  • Prepare reconciliations and investigate discrepancies as needed.
  • Provide backup support for payroll processing and maintenance activities.
  • Provide backup support for cash receipts processing and bank deposit documentation.
  • Provide backup support for employee reimbursement reviews and other finance operations.
  • Assist with audits, funder reviews, and requests for financial documentation.
  • Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with organizational policies and accounting standards.
  • Collaborate with program and administrative staff to ensure accurate reporting and billing.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
