About The Position

The Accountant will collect, interpret, and report financial data to help support the finance and administrative team in developing agency-wide decisions and strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Science, or Business Administration.
  • Advance knowledge of accounting platforms such as: Great Plains, FundEZ, Quickbooks, etc.
  • Experience with Accounting and B.I. packages such as Great Plains, Solomon, Quickbooks, Cognos, etc.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in finance and/or accounting in a healthcare environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office software and Accounting software including but not limited to Excel, PowerPoint, B.I. software, Outlook, Word, etc.

Nice To Haves

  • A28 clinic/FQHC, healthcare network, or hospital setting experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with cost reporting, such as Medicaid and/or Medicare preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Gather, organize, and interpret financial data from all sources and ensure accurate cost reporting.
  • Identifies variances and business gap areas which require senior management’s attention.
  • Assists with maintain and updating the general ledger.
  • Devotes time to risk management activities as related to accounts receivable and compliance activities.
  • Prepare financial reports with reliable conclusions which management can use to implement more effective operational strategies, including but not limited to variance and reimbursement rate analyses.
  • Assists in developing forecasting models for revenue and expenditures.
  • Assist in all monthly accounting processes.
  • Creates and writes financial reports to help streamline processes while assuring real-time reporting.
  • Assists in identifying business improvements initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.
