About The Position

Lafayette American, a creative agency in Detroit, MI is seeking a talented accounting professional to participate in accounting and finance functions as they evolve with the growth of the Agency. The candidate must be: Self-motivated and detail oriented Inspired by working in a creative environment Capable of working independently and handling several projects concurrently This position reports to the Head of Finance.

Requirements

• 1 year of relevant bookkeeping and/or accounting experience
• Undergraduate or graduate degree in accounting required, or working toward one
• Solid analytical skills
• High energy level and desire to work in a fast-paced environment
• Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, G-Suite

Nice To Haves

• Quickbooks experience a plus

Responsibilities

• Accounts payable: set up vendors and contractors. Input invoices into Quickbooks
• Accounts receivable: track, create, and send client invoices
• Assist with preparation of accurate journal entries, bank reconciliations, and other month-end close activities
• Monitor and verify that transactions are properly recorded in the general ledger
• Assist with expense report review
• Assist with tax preparation
• Maintain project trackers for monthly revenue recognition process, communicate status updates to Finance Leadership and team
• Assist with production and media finance tracking
• Perform special projects and ad hoc reporting as required by Finance Leadership
