About The Position

The Accountant supports the Finance Department by managing Accounts Payable, maintaining accounting records, preparing financial reports, processing Sales and Use Tax filings, and assisting with month-end close activities. This role is also responsible for inventory costing, account reconciliations, and supporting a variety of accounting functions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • Must be able to effectively read, write and communicate in English
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and GAAP.
  • Ability to provide verifications of US citizenship or permanent residency to satisfy ITAR/EAR restrictions
  • Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy, timeliness, and meeting deadlines.
  • Must be able to work cooperatively with other leaders, co-workers, customers, and others and maintain effective working relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, coordinate approval, enter and reconcile Accounts Payable transactions within the accounting system.
  • Enter and reconcile sales transactions and related accounting records.
  • Prepares accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Suggest scalable approaches to reducing costs, streamlining processes, and improving margins.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including reconciliations and journal entries.
  • Assist the Controller with project and order closeouts, inventory costing, and cost-of-sales analysis.
  • Research and resolve inventory accounting discrepancies in coordination with cross-functional departments.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce costs, and increase operational efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate accounting records and documentation in accordance with company policies and accepted accounting practices.
  • Provide backup support for Accounting Department functions as needed.
  • Assist with departmental administrative duties and special projects.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all internal information
  • Attends all safety and health training, as required, in a timely manner
  • Works when scheduled and complies with company attendance policy
  • Works overtime as required
  • Observes and practices all safety procedures and personal policies (e.g. Safety-glasses, ear plugs, face shields etc.)
