About The Position

The General Ledger Accountant performs a variety of routine and non-routine accounting functions with significant focus on General Ledger accounting. This position is also responsible for supporting the Controller in conducting key activities such as Month-End and Quarter- End close, Fixed Assets, Account Reconciliations and Audits.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Five years of experience in accounting or related field.
• Intermediate to advance skills in MS Excell
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent analytical skills and ability to resolve complex problems with multiple variables.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in ERP systems (PLEX) strongly preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or at least 7 years of accounting experience with a focus on A/R, AP or cost accounting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly journal entries such as payroll, benefits, accruals, expense allocations, and revenues.
• Support with balance sheet preparation and monthly account reconciliation.
• Maintain and update fixed assets tracking processes.
• Support in continuous improvement processes as it relates to financials.
• Support in all aspects of financial/tax return preparation.
• Support plant controller with other duties as assigned including by not limited to executing Accounts Payable or Accounts Receivable duties as needed.
