Analyze financial information and prepare financial reports to determine/maintain records of assets, liabilities, profit/loss, tax liability, and other financial activities for CMDP funding within the Agency. Prepare CMDP audited financial statements and supplementary schedules in compliance with GAAP and GASB; submit to AHCCCS. Conduct quarterly revenue and expenditure reconciliations; identify and resolve discrepancies using data downloads and AFIS reports. Support annual financial statement audit processes and provide financial data to Agency management, AHCCCS, Office of Auditor General, and ADOA General Accounting Office. Create, revise, and maintain complex Excel worksheets for financial analysis, trending reports, and account analysis schedules with variance explanations and footnotes. Perform general ledger closing and prepare month-end financial reports; update procedures and compile monthly reports for audits. Develop and update KPI metrics, dashboards, and monthly metrics presentations; summarize and present financial findings and recommendations to stakeholders. Survey operations to ascertain accounting needs and recommend/maintain solutions for business and financial problems; advise management on resource utilization and budget assumptions. Ensure compliance with GAAP, governmental accounting standards, internal controls, federal regulations, and agency policies. Utilize automated accounting systems and perform queries in Access; maintain electronic files and records efficiently. Ability to multi-task, adapt to changing priorities, work independently, and communicate effectively with internal/external customers. Perform other duties as assigned related to the position.
