About The Position

The Loan Accounting team, part of the Corporate Accounting team at Zions Bancorporation N.A., provides accurate financial statements and has oversight over loan accounting for all affiliate companies and their core applications. The team focuses on automating processes to support lending initiatives. This role offers opportunities to learn a broad array of accounting skills and provides growth opportunities within the enterprise.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • 0-4 years of experience in accounting, financial analyst, budgets, balance sheets, income statements
  • Knowledge of accounting practices, principles, applications, procedures and internal controls
  • Ability to reconcile General Ledger accounts and analyze financial statements
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word applications
  • Good organizational, problem resolution and time-management skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Good client relationship and communication skills
  • Ability to be a team player and work in a group atmosphere

Nice To Haves

  • Bank or credit/lending background is preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Access is desired
  • A combination of education and experience may meet job requirements

Responsibilities

  • Daily general ledger entries and reconciliations
  • Month-end closing activities
  • Quarterly regulatory reporting
  • Accounting support for the Bancorporation’s business units
  • Work with internal and external auditors to provide supporting documentation
  • Automate processes
  • Reconcile general ledger and subsidiary ledger accounts and maintain supporting records
  • Work with various departments to ensure appropriate accounting treatment for loans
  • Ensure established accounting policies, regulations, and internal controls are followed
  • Interact with credit, lending, and accounting employees regarding loan transactions
  • Assist with the preparation of loan-related financial statements and regulatory reporting schedules
  • Establish and monitor the implementation and maintenance of accounting control procedures
  • Provide strategic recommendations and maintain solutions to business and financial problems
  • Other projects and duties as assigned
