About The Position

Provides accounting, reporting and analytical expertise in support of a business function or business unit. Provides specialized accounting, financial and regulatory reporting, accounting research and control oversight for the company. Creates accounting memoranda and various specialized reports for internal and external use. Completes month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing activities including the preparation and review of journal entries and appropriate audit work papers, and the reconciliation of accounts for such activities. These activities may relate to bank accounting, loans and investments, deposits, tax, and subsidiary regulatory reporting. Supports and assists accounting staff in the development of their professional skills. Requirements

  • University / college degree, with 3+ years of relevant / direct industry experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered.
  • Bachelors degree

Responsibilities

  • Creates, validates, and distributes various management reporting packages throughout the organization that highlight accurate financial results in a timely and complete manner.
  • Variance analysis that includes researching, gathering data and providing the commentary to support market movement and business results.
  • Participates in forecast meetings with the LOB, adding insight and providing support while being able to thoughtfully challenge the processes.
  • Working directly with the LOB to provide ad hoc reporting, develop relationships with business leaders, as well as suggest ways to improve the various reporting cycles and identifying opportunities for enhancements.
  • Completes month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing activities including the preparation and review of journal entries and appropriate audit work papers, and the reconciliation of accounts for such activities.
  • Supports and assists accounting staff in the development of their professional skills.
