About The Position

The mission of the Housing Authority of the Town of St. Martinville is to promote adequate and affordable housing, economic opportunity and a suitable living environment free from discrimination. This position requiring a moderate level of accounting and organization skills, along with a knowledge of customer service.

Requirements

  • One year of experience or training in accounting, auditing, bookkeeping, or financial operations or computations.
  • Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will substitute for one year of the required experience.

Responsibilities

  • Managing accounts payable, receiving all invoices to prepare for payment.
  • Communicate with vendors.
  • Managing accounts receivable, reviewing all invoices to ensure accurate and prompt payment for services.
  • Reconciling cash, bank statements, and revenues, make deposits.
  • Maintaining an accurate general ledger, adjusting as needed.
  • Notify applicants of the determination by phone call and explain the reason.
  • Answer incoming calls, take messages where needed, give out and receive potential resident applications for processing.
  • Collecting rental payments from residents.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive and Assistant Director.
