About The Position

AM Pierce & Associates and Applied Technologies Group (ATG) is seeking a Senior Accountant to provide support for BSO-11 (Budget Submitting Office) Business Offices. This role involves working with clients to examine and develop accounting processes, including new processes for Navy ERP. The successful candidate will participate in working groups related to G-Invoicing, Budget Execution Valuation (BEV), and FERMC. Responsibilities include updating and maintaining standard operating procedures and policies, performing data analysis related to funding, month-end and year-end close, and compiling and reviewing field-level journal vouchers. The role also requires reviewing and reconciling monthly treasury reports against the general ledger, understanding general ledger account behavior, analyzing trial balances, and researching unmatched transactions. Additional accounting duties as needed will also be part of the role. The position is located in Washington, D.C. and is an on-site role.

Requirements

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance, required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or equivalent degree.
  • Associate's degree with eight (8) years of experience.
  • 7-10 years of accounting, audit, and/or Financial Improvement and Audit Readiness (FIAR) experience.
  • Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (N-ERP) experience.
  • Intermediate to Advanced Excel Skills to include performing financial analysis.
  • Self-Driven and efficient.
  • Detailed Oriented.
  • Analytical Skills.
  • Good Communication Skills.
  • Works well on team projects.

Responsibilities

  • Examine/develop processes to support the accounting department to include new processes of Navy ERP.
  • Participate in working groups related to G-Invoicing, Budget Execution Valuation (BEV), FERMC (UMT, AP AR, IGTs, and Tie-Points).
  • Update and maintain standard operating procedures and policies.
  • Perform data analysis related to funding, month end close, year-end close.
  • Perform compilation and review of field level journal vouchers.
  • Review and reconcile monthly treasury reports when compared to the general ledger.
  • Understand the behavior and functionality of various general ledger accounts.
  • Review and analyze trial balances for pre-close and post-close analysis.
  • Review and research unmatched transactions.
  • Support other accounting duties as needed.
